Rotary International’s primary membership goal is to reach 1.25 million Rotarians and 125,000 Rotaractors by 2030.
For the 2026-27 term, RI President-Elect Olayinka Babalola introduced the theme “Create Lasting Impact,” challenging clubs to actively recruit diverse members and reduce first-year member attrition.
To align your club with these international objectives, you can track the following initiatives and resources:
    • 3-Year Rolling Goals: Rotary has transitioned to a three-year strategic plan. Club and district leaders are actively setting membership benchmarks for the 2024–2028 window using the Rotary Club Central platform.
    • Each One, Bring One: This initiative remains a primary call to action, urging current members to attract new professionals and volunteers into existing Rotary and Rotaract clubs. [1, 2]
    • Mentorship & Engagement: Clubs are encouraged to focus heavily on participant experience—specifically improving member retention by utilizing Rotary International action plans, hybrid meetings, and structured mentorships.
    • New Club Models: Expanding reach also involves organizing and diversifying participation through new innovative club formats, corporate clubs, and participant engagement channels.

Impact starts with our members — people like you who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

At club meetings in communities across the globe, our people of action come together to strengthen their connections to friends and neighbors and their commitment to improving lives.

Who can join?   We’re looking for people who want to give back to their communities.  Rotary clubs also welcome Rotaractors, Rotary Peace Fellows, and other members of the family of Rotary who qualify for membership.

Rotarians are encouraged to invite a friend, family member, business associate or community member to join them throughout the year in:

• Fun events
• Volunteer projects
• Club activities
• Celebrations large and small

 

Share your time, knowledge and enthusiasm for each outing. Share your passion for Rotary and then invite them to a meeting.    Then invite them to join Rotary!

Membership Goals

ENHANCE PARTICIPANT ENGAGEMENT
1. Enhance member engagement tools that support Rotary’s core values through personal
growth, leadership development, service, and networking opportunities.
2. Reduce the number of new members leaving within their first year of membership.
3. Increase collaboration among participants particularly Rotary and Rotaract clubs.

What’s expected of me?

As a club member, you will be asked to:

  • Pay club dues
  • Attend meetings and events
  • Use your professional skills and talents to make a difference
