Open Your Home, Open Your Heart, Open Your World

Hosting a Rotary Youth Exchange student is a profoundly rewarding experience. You’ll bring the world into your home, share your culture and community, and see your own life through new eyes. More than that, you’ll forge a lifelong bond and become a “second family” to a young person on the adventure of a lifetime.
What are the benefits of hosting?
Learn about a new culture and share your own traditions.
Develop a lasting, personal connection with a student and their family abroad.
Enrich the lives of your own family by giving them an international “brother” or “sister.”
Make a difference by helping a young person grow into a confident, open-minded global citizen.
Who Can Be a Host Family?
Host families are as diverse as our community! You can be a single person with a child at home, a couple, or a family with young children or grown children. You can be a Rotarian or not. All it takes is a warm and welcoming spirit, a desire to share your life, and a commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and caring home environment for a student.
What is the Commitment?
In District 6400, we believe in giving students a broad and rich experience of life in our community. Students typically live with two to three different host families during their year-long exchange. This means your hosting commitment is usually for about 3-4 months, allowing you to share the joy and responsibility with other dedicated families
