Kim Spirou has a passion for making an impact that matters. She has been involved in Rotary for over 30 years and is currently a member of the newly chartered Rotary Club of Tecumseh Lakeshore. Kim has participated in and led numerous international Rotary team trips in central America and Ghana where she has initiated projects in all of Rotary’s seven areas of focus.
Kim has served as an assistant governor, as a district trainer and she has served as club president three times. An ardent supporter of The Rotary Foundation Kim is a Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, Bequest Society member and a Major Donor.
Kim has earned many accolades and awards since joining Rotary. She has been named Rotarian of the Year, presented with the Council of Governor’s (COG) Award and in 2004, under her leadership, her club earned the prestigious D6400 Dick Hedke Award.
In 2021, recognizing her tremendous accomplishments and body of humanitarian service work, Rotary Zone 28 presented Kim with the prestigious Donald McCrae Peace Award for outstanding international service. In 2023, Kim received Rotary International’s highest honor for an individual Rotarian – The Service Above Self award.
Kim has enjoyed a 34-year career in the public relations field. As an internationally recognized communicator she has provided public relations support, expertise and training for numerous organizations in both the public and private sectors. In 2001, Kim established her own PR firm called Spirou & Associates. She has earned several awards for her work and was named Business Professional of the Year by the Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce and Communicator of the Year by the Ontario Hospital Association.
