Claude Curry’s many friends in Rotary, past and present, will come to remember him at the memorial service on June 28. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Unity of Livonia church. It is located at 28660 Five Mile Road, Livonia 48154. Immediately after the service there will be a luncheon served at the church. Everyone is encouraged to stay for lunch. The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) proudly hosted the annual Community Service Grant Presentation, celebrating their Club’s continued commitment to local service. This year, a total of $47,500 was awarded to 17 local non-profit organizations in Windsor-Essex, for projects and initiatives specifically focused on supporting children and youth.
The Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial not only supports local projects and organizations, we work globally as well. Our own club member, Beyene Haile
travelled to his home village, the holy city of Axum, Tigray in Ethiopia to provide them with much needed school supplies. With support from the Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial and a World Community Service District Matching Grant provided by District 6400, $5000 USD and a donation of $300 from the LaSalle Interact Club, provided the funds for the high school in Axum to purchase the school supplies that they needed most. Also, while he was there, he distributed soccer jerseys to primary and secondary students that were collected by the LaSalle Interact Club from local organizations. Beyene, a former mayor of the town, was asked to present recognitions to worthy students and was presented with a certificate of appreciation on behalf of himself, the Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial, District 6400, and the LaSalle Interact Club.
“The environmental committee of the Rotary Club of Windsor St Clair hosted a series of town hall style meetings recently. Three locations were chosen, in order to allow community members from across Windsor and Essex county to attend. The purpose of the meetings was to provide a forum for local citizens to bring forth environmental concerns, or
projects and ideas that they were currently involved with, or would like to see happen in their local community.
Belleville Rotary Club is proud to award six $5,000 college scholarships to members of the Class of 2025 at Belleville High School.

Plymouth Noon Rotarians- The Family of Rotary was on the Main Street Island in Downtown Plymouth, where they facilitated the seasonal transition from spring tulips to summertime begonias.
On May 8th, areas 9, 10 & 12 gathered at Muscedere Winery for the 3rd annual Wine Social. The cooler weather couldn’t keep 65 Rotarians from coming together to share wine, pizza, stories and fellowship. This year we had DG Nick, DGE Linda, DGN Kim and DGNN Therese joining in the fun.
Members of the Windsor St. Clair Rotary Club assembled 50 Mom/baby kits for our April service project focused on maternal health. The recipient organization for this initiative was Our Lady of Guadalupe Home.
Members of the Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial and friends were happy to help ERCA with the Spring Sandwich litter cleanup. Together about fifty volunteers removed 1,825lbs or 825kg of litter/refuse along Russell Street, including some side streets up to Sandwich Street as well as properties along the Detroit River shoreline. Funding for this initiative was provided by the Gordie Howe Community Benefits Plan.

Members of the Rotary Club of Windsor–St. Clair have committed to implementing one community service project per month for the twelve months leading up to the club’s fiftieth anniversary in fall 2025. We were pleased to sponsor an hour of free public skating on Family Day at Tecumseh Arena & Recreation Complex.

Plymouth AM Rotary had a tour of the new Early Learning Center of ParcLife. This ABA certified therapy program for “differently-abled” children ages 2-6. This room was funded by a district grant. Your Rotary funds at work!
