Join the virtual World Interact Week party to celebrate the power of Interact, featuring a special guest appearance, exciting new announcements, and an opportunity to connect with Interactors around the world In addition to joining the virtual party, take action with your Interact club with these ideas to celebrate World Interact Week:
1. Share your best service project or leadership development activity in the 2020 Interact Awards. This year, we are accepting videos, photos, and essays as part of the Interact Awards. Learn more and nominate your Interact club by 1 December 2020. (http://on.rotary.org/2020InteractAwards)
2. Plan a service project or celebration with your sponsor Rotary club and local Rotaract club. Check out these ideas to plan service projects and club meetings virtually. (http://my.rotary.org/learn?deep-link=https%3A//learn.rotary.org/members/learn/dashboard/channel/67)
3. Work with your sponsor club to complete a certificate of recognition to highlight the positive impact during World Interact Week. Remember, social media promotion of a World Interact Week activity by your Interact club is an optional goal towards achieving the Rotary Citation for Interact Clubs. Use this worksheet to track your progress toward the Rotary Citation for Interact Clubs throughout the year. (https://my-cms.rotary.org/…/rotary-citation-goals-and…)
Share your celebrations with #WorldInteractWeek and RSVP to the event for the most up-to-date events calendar and for access to live virtual events throughout the week.
It’s Time to Celebrate our Interact Clubs
Interact Clubs are a vital component to Rotary as an organization, to the communities they serve and most importantly to the youth involved. The first week of November is the time to celebrate their contributions and continue to explore ways that we can support the youth in our community. Wondering how an Interact Club can work with your club to achieve goals?
Here’s an overview of the great interact clubs in Super District 6400:

Northville Interact Club This has been a challenging year due to Covid for the Northville High school Rotary Interact Club. The inability to participate with in person volunteer events has limited the scope of opportunities. They are doing their best to support the community by creating and delivering care packages to front line workers at nearby hospitals and supporting Civic Concern with a canned food drive. Rotary Co-Chairs Debbie Tyler and Carol Graham are hoping to facilitate virtual mentoring opportunities with the Living and Learning Center. All of the club members are looking forward to having the ability to read to isolated Seniors and do in person grounds work and mentoring at the Living and Learning Center in the near future.

LaSalle Interact Club
Here are some ideas of what the Rotary Club of LaSalle and the Interact Club of LaSalle have worked on:
- Mentorship Sessions- Speed dating Style Interactors get to meet two to three Rotarians and ask them questions about their professions and being a Rotarian.
- Joint Fund Raisers – Interactors have helped us with our Trivia Night both as volunteers the night of the event but also in promotion. The funds raised have been shared with the Interact Club so they can pursue local and international projects.
- Joint Projects
a) The Interact Club has adopted Malawi as a sister community and worked with the Rotary Club of
LaSalle to help fund a global grant which will see the installation of water wells in a school
community.
b) Local Clean Up- Rotarians and Interactors have worked side by side to clean up local trails.
c) Holiday Hope Baskets – Interactors have helped put together food baskets for families in need. In
addition, the Interact Club has fostered a local family for the holidays by providing gifts for the
children of the family.
Interact is a very crucial part of the Rotary organization. It should not be underestimated or undervalued because the benefits it provides to the organization, the community and the youth involved are numerous.
